JPG July. It's where you shoot JPG for a month and not raw. Be brave and make the switch. See my sig line for details.

NOO! You can't make me!  I won't I won't.

Really though... I see your point. And I respect it. But I don't wanna do it.

I like RAW, and not because I'm afraid I won't get the shot otherwise. But because I like the artistic freedom I have with RAW.
PP doesn't overwhelm me either... if I do a shoot, and need the photos fast, I do a quick batch convert to JPG with LR, and voila, a folder full of JPGs with no PP. I did that with about 100 pics just last weekend. Took the shots, batched to JPG, burned to discs, distributed to waiting people. Easy Peasy. ;)

Enjoy your JPG July. I'll stick with what works for me. :D :D

I am working on the slideshow today. ;) It's an easy one though, so I should be done shortly.

I was going to find a link to my laptop so you could look at the specs. Give me a sec...

But Wade (pragmatically) told me it was dumb to pay 200 more and wait 2 weeks just for color. *sigh* I hate it when he's right.

Welcome home Lonnie. Sounds like it was a good trip, looking forward to seeing and hearing more. How did the IR work out?

I haven't started processing yet, but I think the IR worked great. I sure hope so, anyway. I have over 700 pictures from the trip to work through, and about half of them were with the 10D.

Working with the 10D and 40D side-by-side made me realize just how technologically advanced our cameras have become in only five years. It's amazing to see the differences when you're forced to work with the old and the new at the same time. There is one area where the 10D really shines over anything I've used since then, though. It has one very sweet shutter sound! It's so whisper quiet. Shhhhk. The 20D was more like a CLACK-CLACK. The 40D is quieter than the 20D, but no where near as nice as the 10D.

Welcome home...Poughkeepsie (at least in NY) is pronounced Poe-kip-see.

puh' kipsee

That's how I would have pronounced it. But, Permie said it wasn't spelled anything like it was pronounced. So... How does Permie think it's pronounced? ???

That is AWESOME! LOL!

I was getting some rather odd, quizzical looks from an elderly couple sitting on the bench in front of the museum/gift store across the "street". I'm not sure if that was because of what I was doing or because I was laughing my ass off the whole time...

Sure. Actually, it's because I have an almost unnatural pull to the color green. You should see my house.

It's not dumb if it's the (space added here by Cat, just so Beefy wouldn't be embarrassed later by his typo) one you want.:D

Yeah, well. I needed it before we went on vacation, and ordering it would have been REALLY cutting it close. The one at Staples was identical except for color and price.

Uh, no. Sorry, but I don't think I'll play along. It has nothing to do with bravery or lack thereof.

GMAE.. We're getting some lovely rain up here today after a serious heat wave. Even some lightning! :) I wish I had the chance to shoot it!

That's not just any dog... It's my dog! Her name is Minnie.

I kept seeing flashes of light off to the west as I drove home from Mojave to Palmdale last night. I think it was heat lightning, but I'm not sure. It never would happen while I was looking in that direction. I only caught it out of the corner of my eye, in my peripheral vision.

I've seen heat lightning before, back in 1982 while I was in the Navy, on a ship off shore from El Salvador. I think the conditions here are right for it, now.

Hello all, not caught up and not squished.

My oldest son Adam was seriously hurt in a logging accident this morning. He is being transported from Roseburg to Portland for surgery on a broken vertebra that if successful, he will be able to continue to walk.
I am completely devastated and trying to be strong for my strong boy. Any and all positive thoughts would be welcomed. I am reminding myself that he is a survivor and has overcome many challenges in his life and this is just one more to show how strong he is.
I will be traveling to be with him and his fiance and without a computer for I have no idea how long.
~Terri

Dearest Terri I'm so sad this has happened ..my love to you and yours while you are away know your love is even closer than you think ,hugs Terri and much peace
