Hey gang,
I have tons of 2 gig cards (16) and two 4 gig and one 8 gig cards------I am thinking of moving to all 8 gigs or more. Does anyone have any recommendations for 8 or 16 gig cards---that are on sale this week? I typically only purchase SanDisk--- because I use them for weddings.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

Sandisk has some nice rebates going on right now for their Extreme III and Extreme IV cards. Plus, the more you buy the bigger the rebate! If you get 1 8GB, the rebate is $40, but for two it's $100. Beach Camera has some pretty good prices.

I just ordered an SanDisk Extreme IV 8GB CF card from vendor the other day for $64.99 plus (gagchokecough) $11.86 for shipping. But we'll see it's real but they claim it's genuine. I am not sure it's a good idea to share the seller until I know for sure as i have never ordered from them before. If anyone wants to know I guess I could but it might be better to see if they ever even ship it.

Like I said they claim it's real and in the original packaging and all. We'll see...that is the beauty of a credit card worst case is a chargeback but they seem to be a legit...

IN the mean time I found Extreme III 8GB cards on Amazon for $74.99

ed rader,
Is this an actual cash rebate or is this the promotion where you get a store credit card for the amount of the rebate to spend on something for that particular store only? Does this rebate end on June 30? Thanks, glenphoto

Just grabbed the rebate form from Beach's site- it looks like a Visa prepaid card offer....

Only available from purchases from certain vendors:

(Works for B&H, Adorama, Beach, etc., but not Amazon  )

Beach does have good prices on these (BH was out of stock on a few of the ones I wanted...)

$89 for 8gb Extreme III
$182 for 16gb Extreme III

8gb
3x $89=$267 - $160 rebate = $107 :D

or
16gb
2x$182=$364 - $200 = $164 :D

Lets not start that thread again.... ;)

I thought a 16gb would be good to have for a trip - (I had to take my laptop on my Honeymoon to dump pictures off ), but since my 20D can only read up to 8gb, I think it would make more sense to stick with the 8gb cards....

I got an 8gb ExtIII CF card for $55 about a year ago, so I wouldn't pay more than that now. I also recently got 2 8gb ExtIII SD cards for $31 each. Pays to shop around.

bryan k,
Thanks for the response, but you should make it clear to all potential purchasers that it is not a cash rebate, it is a store credit card to purchase something from that particular store that you buy the sandisk memory cards from, but is still a great deal so if buy 3 of the extreme III cf cards(sandisk) you will receive a $160 rebate that you can buy something else from that store with basically a $160 store credit. Offer expires 6/29 I believe. I think B&H is selling these cards for $99.95 each. Will B&H match Beach's price when you call them? glenphoto
