i'm thinking power up the flashes, or get a second one so you can up the shutter and get rid of the shutter blur. i like them tho.

Yeah, I have two (Vivitar 285 and an old ass Canon 166A) but the 166A is WAY underpowered unfortunately. I like the shutter blur but I will definitely start taking more with a higher shutter again hah. I wish I didn't get a damn ticket so I could've gotten another 285 or a 383.

yeah for sure, i need to get a second flash too,

i see where you're going with it though, i havent had enough experience with skateboarding, but if you could get enough power out of the flashes to eliminate motion blur, and run the shutter just long enough to get that good mountain background in, that would be so prime. i like the second alot, if only you could get rid of the blur and the light in his hand.

you're definitely on a good track. do you go on skateperception too?

The blur is pretty distracting, but I see exactly what you were going for. and sans the slow shutter,I think these would be some awesome photos

Well also with high shutter speeds you're not able to capture any ambient light. I liked the sunset and the surroundings... so...

and here is some from today...

Today was fun stuff, throwdowns were present in full effect, no spot was left unshredded.

Kyle learned crooks at the Sweetwater ledge:

Sam threw more down, as usual:

Then we headed out to this whole business complex with a ton of banks, and one has a power box with a concrete frame that is perfect for stalls and slides. Jake threw down a tailslide...

and then looped out on a lipslide, I don't know how I saved the camera on this one...

but then came back and did a lipslide revert...

Sam threw a nosepick down on it with complete steez, he just learned these a few days ago.

Then we headed out to this local church that has a skate ministry and total supports skating on their grounds, which oddly enough can be comparable to heaven for skating. They have this gnarly 9 stair, so first Jake ollied it...

then switch ollied it!

all in all today was successful, a lot more was thrown down while the camera was bagged but these photos could make up a "greatest hits" of the day. Thanks for looking!

Cool shots. I think a stronger flash though would help prevent the ghosting

Yep, or if my other flash had triggered (accidentally had the receiver set in off position), there would be none.

What curtain is your flash set to? It looks like it's on first curtain, I'd experiment with second curtain.
A nine stair switch ollie is pretty sick.

Exactly what I was thinking. Then at least the ghosting would be behind the subject (realatively) and you can still get that good background exposure.

On some its second, on others its first. I don't know if it makes a difference with my Poverty Wizards though, I haven't played around with it enough. Thanks!!

i really love the shots where the background is completely blacked out. a little too much fisheye at times for me, but great stuff otherwise!
