I'd like to hear some C&C from you guys. What do you think of this shot (good, bad, ugly, what can be done better)? There was nothing special about the composition. We were hiking, I saw an interesting plant, and tried a new perspective.

Thanks! Appreciate the feedback!

I agree with Gail, but did you hit it with a spray bottle? The water drops with that sky, ground, and position of the sun just seem out of place.

I know that adding water to flowers is a technique to add interest, but usually on macro or close-up shots. It doesn't work here for me.

Thanks for the comments! This was taken a week ago at Red Rocks NCA, just outside Las Vegas. There was some very impressive weather coming in and we actually had to hunker down in our car, while a LOT of water fell from the skies. This is what it looked like:

When it cleared out, there was sun and beautiful vistas.

Soooo...no spray bottle :)

Well that is an impressive weather transformation in such a short time :)

The ground (while blurred) looked bone dry, and the sky clear. You should think about presenting the change in weather on the trip as a trio of shots. One in the car while it's pouring, your original post, and one towards the end of the hike.

It's hard to imagine that it was natural rain without the context of the time before and after.

Good job waiting out the rain to go shoot :D Kudos!

first one is weird to me because it looks like someone stuck popcorn on branches, the second one however is very cool and dramatic. I would be you can make that photo pop even more with a levels work.

nice..
I don't know if it would even be possible to get any lower (without digging a hole), but I think I would have liked a little more sky. Also, I find the hiker to be a bit distracting. I like the water drops. Thanks.
