He really is making his mark!

you can probably see where you were focused on.the tree instead of the woodpecker...it happens to all of us when we come across something in which we have to snap a quick one.;)

you're a great friend, but if Zombies chase us, I am tripping you.

Its not the blur I am seeing..the tree itself is fairly sharp, but the entire bird( to me) is not? Even his feet would have been solid..but they do move hard and fast...
Servio is always on when I am outside.lol.lazy I am.;)

That tree is tack sharp though! :)

That's the lens I'm picking up soon. How do you like it? Most reviews are very good.

It's the 100-400. I've been eyeing it for several months now. It's also my Bday present to myself :)

being that im learning please forgive me if Im wrong:

I see this exif: # Exposure Time (1 / Shutter Speed) = 1/800 second = 0.00125 second
# Lens F-Number/F-Stop = 56/10 = F5.6
# Exposure Program = manual control (1)
# ISO Speed Ratings = 400

With a fast shutterspeed and high iso like you used even a small amount of movement would have been frozen? (like his back feathers) I have never used l glass or seen a real woodpecker, so im just inquisitive :)I guess its like humming birds (which i have also never seen) very hard to capture?

I wish I had some wildlife near me, closest I get to wild animals is my cat :(

oooh nice second pic :)

The second shot is the better of the two for composition, but it's a tad overexposed. Should be an easy fix if you shot RAW.

400 I don't think is considered hig at all when shooting critters.many go higher. I rarely change my ISO from 400..its a handy number:D

The stop is also a safe one.anything from 5.6 - 11.0 is usually a good bet.
