It's based on a BMW z8. I'll think of the name eventually.

I don't see it. Some of the body line are similar, but I wouldn't say it was based on a Z8.

I think it looks like a TVR design,

TVR Sagaris?

Something new from Panoz or Stryker perhaps?

...or is this someone new to the game?

Everyone is wrong so far, but this is the best question in this thread.

From the information I have, this is a car with no base made by the owner as a one-off. I have no information saying that he is part of a manufacturer, past or future. I can't verify this information, but I haven't been proven wrong as yet, so that's all I have...

This one's going to be tough. Any self-made car is going to be a tough call. Unless someone knows of this car, we're in for a world of hurt here.

Over 1500 views on the original posted thread, not to mention the amount of views from the original source. No idea if it's been anywhere else either, so that could potentially mean even more. I'm sure there's someone somewhere who's seen it and can identify it. If I found it, that means someone else can too. :)

This http://www.ultimatecarpage.com …-official-thread-100.html (external link)

Indicates that it could be a Zandonella prototype. However, I'm unable to find anything on the web outside of that web-site to support that. The Zandonella you see on google images is completely different to this one.

I cheated too and did that. The Zandonella is for the post above that I think. The posted who posted the plate seemed to have been ignored.

That's also what I saw. The Zandorella is a completely different car to this one.

Funny - I was on the same website (googled the license plate and followed the links) and as you say - there seems to be some confusion over the origins.

I've registered with the site and the attachments both show the same pics as above, so this might well be a 'prototype' by the same guy....although I cannot find any more details online....

Some more info I found on another website:

"One clue though, it has Hartge wheels. Might mean it's BMW-powered, but then again it might mean nothing." - which is exactly what I said in a previous post....

Still looking into this and determined to find the answer now!

Technically speaking, shots displayed here should be the OP's own material (otherwise it's a copyright infringment). This one stays, but there needs to be a ruling - we can't have people getting photos off the web and posting them here.

Is that cool with people?

Right - I've checked the Hartge website and those are definitely Hartge Classic wheels - and being in a 5 stud fitment it means they are BMW fitment (5x120) which leads me back to my original comment that this is based on some form of BMW running gear.

Your comment about this being 'made' by one man might be so, but no single man can manufacture engine/drivetrain/brakes etc.. from scratch when using existing components is many millions of pounds (dollars/euros etc..) cheaper. Again, I say this is built on a BMW platform of some type.

Your comment on another website "I do know what I believe to be the correct name, but not much else" means you cannot say that this isn't based on a BMW.....all you know is that it is a 'one off' by 'one man' and you supposedly know the name....although you don't even seem entirely sure about that too??

This might be a new prototype by a new company/man but because you don't know much more than that, you can't really say it isn't based on a BMW when the facts (like the wheels) show otherwise?

I'm giving up on this one because I've seen your 'puzzle' and without more concrete facts about its build/origins etc... then your data, which you seem to be pretty vague about yourself, means it's a pointless exercise in my eyes...

What I have to go on is the owner/driver's word. The photographer of these images spoke to the driver and what the driver said to him, I have shared with you. This is all that I know about the car, and as there is no evidence against it I am using this as what is the truth.

I personally find it hard to believe also that there is nothing further to this, no base and professional input, but until light gets shed on anything incorrect I've mentioned so far, I can only go with what I have, and that is the name that the owner has given.

If there is complaint against this as a puzzle then I'm happy to use a different car for this puzzle, just let me know.
