Haven't had time lately to really try out this lens, been playing with IR. So for kicks I tried this lens on my 20d converted:

Not too different, but this didn't have much thought put into it. If weather let's up I can try a better composition/subject. :)

I got my Bigmos a couple of weeks ago. Great lens. Takes a bit of practice if you've never shot with a long lens like this but I'm getting the hang of it.

Okay, silly question. Sigma is great for including stuff: Hood, case, lens strap... How does one use the lens strap? Does it attach to the tripod ring somehow? Also, there is a small amount of rotational play when the lens is mounted on my 7D. Is that a problem? Lens seems to function fine and is securely mounted to the camera.

Thanks.

Eric

There's a small pin that's under the tripod foot at the back. You connect the strap to that pin. Flip your tripod foot over, look at it, you'll see the pin. All of my lenses, Canon, Sigma, Tamron, etc., have all had a small amount of rotational play in them, it's normal. You can't design the mounts to be too tight or you wouldn't be able to mount the lens, there wouldn't be enough leeway to snap the lock-pin into place. So, they design a slight amount of play, a millimeter or two, so you have over-travel for the pin to engage correctly.

Thanks. Is that the pin that the collar lock is attached to?

A picture is worth 1000 words. Did you not get an instruction pamphlet with your lens?

Thanks! That's what I thought. I appreciate the picture. I did look at the pamphlet when I first got it. Must have missed any mention of the strap.

Cheers,

Eric

You are most welcome! The pamphlet shows a diagram of how to lead the strap thru/under the pin.
