Just got one today....hope to have it next week. I was shooting with a Canon Mirror lens with nice results so I have what it takes to handle this "little" lens!

Mother watching her young (a bit soft but I liked it) I still need to practice more but its a great lens! All these were handheld because I hate tripods and monopods! LOL!! Its one heavy SOB though... I find the focus fast enough for me. I hope to improve as I continue to practice. Any comments are welcome. Gear: a toothed wheel

Proper long lens technique and a learning curve is a defo requirement, but there is nothing wrong with the sharpness of this lens Flickr

Maybe people thought I was a troll with my hummingbird question, but I was being serious. Right now I am using a prime with a 2x teleconverter to get 400mm. I was hoping this lens might be an option as I wouldn't need the teleconverter and wouldn't have to worry about slowing focus speed or dealing with image degradation. Hummingbird in flight pictures I've found on Flickr that were shot with this lens do seem soft though. Has anyone here had better success?
