A couple from the head to head comparision I just did to the 100-400...

Which was which? Camera? Head-to-head means comparison on the same subject, Doesn't it?

Digitizing in a snap reflective glory

Head to head means one lens pitted against another, I reviewed the 100-400 to the Sigma.

I finally caught on that I needed to see the url you were referencing. Duh!! Homer Simpson moment!

Mine arrived yesterday and I was able to take a few shots, but not many. The lighting is not great for these so I had to up the ISO. I can't wait to do some more shooting with it to really get used to it.

And the obligatory moon shot when you buy a long lens. Tamron 1.4x TC (1120 effective focal length) cropped, curves, slight USM.

This looks like being a good lens. Like the look of the wide open aperture shots and seems to take the 1.4 nicely as well.

I took some shots with the Tamron 1.4 today. I need to upload them still to check out IQ but in the shade I could not get AF to work (and I expected that). MF with this lens is pretty easy though as the focus ring is nice and smooth and located right by the tripod foot in a perfect spot. It also has a broad range so you have to move the ring a good ways to find the right spot. This eliminates jumping ahead or behind your subject trying to MF.

More from Bigmos today (still crappy light, but oh well). Shot JPEG, minor PP on some, most have none, few cropped, most not, resized, slight USM.

Nice ones, Mike! Looks like you're going to wear that lens out. :)

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

The more results I see of this lens the more I'm impressed.

My 100-400L could not give me results as good as these. Canon couldn't sort mine out so it now lives in my attic with spiders. (I'm not nasty enough to pass it on to anyone else).

Thanks Tony. I have to run it through it's courses to make sure it will perform for me. So far it looks like a winner, but the test ain't over yet. :)
