I can't wait to do some more shooting with it to really get used to it.
And the obligatory moon shot when you buy a long lens. Tamron 1.4x TC (1120 effective focal length) cropped, curves, slight USM.

Like the look of the wide open aperture shots and seems to take the 1.4 nicely as well. I took some shots with the Tamron 1.4 today. I need to upload them still to check out IQ but in the shade I could not get AF to work (and I expected that). MF with this lens is pretty easy though as the focus ring is nice and smooth and located right by the tripod foot in a perfect spot. It also has a broad range so you have to move the ring a good ways to find the right spot. This eliminates jumping ahead or behind your subject trying to MF. Mike, The Keeper of the Archive

A little motion blur here (150mm end)
Butterfly about 30 feet away (almost 100% crop here)
My parents 16 year old mini Schnauzer that we almost lost a few weeks ago.
Duckie close up
Dragon
Speeding car about 1000 feet away, slight crop

Looks like you're going to wear that lens out. "Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

I have to run it through it's courses to make sure it will perform for me. So far it looks like a winner, but the test ain't over yet. Mike, The Keeper of the Archive
