It's a nice try, but the bird doesn't look real. The color is off. There's some good detail, but I'd prefer that the color of the bird stay as true to what the eye sees as possible. Unfortunately, when I get days like this, where is completely grey outside, the shots suffer from one problem or another. Which makes it hard to pinpoint a good processing technique. But, I'm still learning how to get bad shots to turn into decent shots.
I'd cut back on the saturation a bit, to get the color down to a milder level. Here's another shot run through Lightroom. Still looks a tiny bit too bright on the chest markings for my tastes. I think the shots I did with minimal processing seem to show the color a bit better, even though it's not as striking as I'd like it to be. The bird as my eyes see it isn't as striking, the chest colors are more subdued. Of course, like I said, the day wasn't the greatest for color and detail. If I could have spent more time I could have messed with camera settings, but even though the hawk was staying around, it started snowing.

But, all in all, I think I could see a decent happy-medium between what you did and what I tried to do. Seems to be the best look for the bird so far. Thanks for posting, it made me change a bit of my approach to the shots.
