This might be a silly request, but can anyone post some examples at 150 mm? I know that most buy this lens for the long end, but I tend to use my zooms throughout their ranges and I plan on purchasing the 150-500 early next year. I'm sure there are probably some 150 mm examples in this thread, but since it is so big, I am hoping someone can help.

Thanks in advance.

Tim

I did some brief testing of the 150-500 against my 70-200 at similar focal lengths and apertures. The Sigma stood up pretty well. I'll see if I have any samples saved...

Thanks for those samples at the short end of the lens. It looks good.

It is interesting that many times reviews or sample photos for telezoom lenses are almost all from the long end. While I will probably use it primarily at 500mm, the benefit of a zoom is that we have the entire range to work with.

I am really looking forward to getting this lens (and a new 7D) next year.

Tim

I'm not sure if it's my photography skills, the 50D AF system, or the slow lens AF, but the keeper rate is little low for me on this lens. I guess the miss focused issue usually happens more on a telephoto than a short zoom. oh well, but at least when the focus is spotted on it's sharp!

Hi Drumm - no mate, 440mm hand held. Its a Starling, fairly common here and they have a stunning colouration
