The Starling is REALLY REALLY good! The Bear too!
On the falcon and the Egret I can see a little motion blur... and on the "red faced" bird, I think a liiiitle too much NR...

Shorts just taken with the 150-500, I find the OS making a weird noise when it starts. Is it common to do that?
But the shots are pretty good in my opinion.

This one at ISO 3200 with the 7D.
I have learnt to just stick the ISO on AUTO most times and not worry about it at all. Not sure if you all use any different technique for wildlife but would appreciate any tips please.
I find myself most times using the P Mode and leaving the ISO on AUTO, and then just play around with the front dial to get the best combination between the SS and Aperture.

Any tips or suggestions are highly appreciated.

Thanks

My OS is pretty loud when it starts up... I assume that's normal.

Same here - its not a worry really. Unless you're so close to the birds that it spooks 'em

Thing that is more of a yawn is the lens doesnt really like low light of any description - if the day is only partly dull, i just dont bother pulling the lens out of its bag.

On a nice bright day, its a killer

I actually didn't find a lot of problems with it shooting today. It was pretty dull and very cloudy in the afternoon. Bright and lovely in the morning but ended up dull afterwards, but was keen on testing the 150-500mm that I had just bought. The 7D high ISO performance really paid off as most shots were all at ISO 3200 and I was getting around 100 to 160 SS, rarely 250 but the noise seems pretty well controlled.

The goldfinich at 1/100 SS and ISO 3200 wide open on a tripod with the OS off, it still got me a nice shot I presume. Can't wait to catch a day full of sunshine to give it a full workout

Zuluart, I see you're using your BigmOS at F/6.3. Try to take some shots at F8.0, as it uses to be the sweet spot for sharpness, and see if you get any better results.
I would advice you to use the 7D on AV mode, f/8.0, AUTO ISO (and manually raise if needed).. see if you like the results ;)

A lot of times I found the Auto ISO on my 50D doesn't give me the shutter speed I want. (Too low)
Is it better on the 7D?

[QUOTE=gabebalazs;9099193]Moon with my 7D and Bigmos. This is close to 100% crop but not quite.

This is truely a beautiful shot. I have had no success getting any kind of detail like this. All I end up with is a bright ball. I have tried multiple AWB settings, I have also tried multiple shutter speeds/aperture combinations. Any tips/pointers will be most appreciated!

Same with mine. Interesting noises coming from the OS, at least I know it's on!
