I use to have like 4 canon powershoot camera's before i got my XTi

Canon SD900
Canon SD600
Canon SD500
Canon SD1000

They had pretty good videos i guess, I will be attending a show on June 15th and i will photograph and want to make some videos of the cars.

I want a camera that can turn on fast and make videos that are over 30FPS and 600x + video size...

At this point i will not be buying it, i am just renting, its pretty cheap its like 30 bux a day.

which camea do you guys think would be good?

You want more than 640x480/30 fps video? The only Canon PowerShot that can do this is the TX-1, which does 1280x720 at 30fps (and 4.5 MB/sec). It'll do 60 fps, but only at 320x240. The G9 will do 1024x720, but only at 15 fps. The S5 will also do 60 fps, but again only at 320x240.

hmm i see, my older camera the SD900 made great videos, im pretty sure the video size was 640x480 and at 30 FPS, on video mode recording it was 100mb for 1 min 30 sec... i might just get a cam-corder.... ill see.

I have the S3 and am amazed at the quality of the videos it takes, they are in stereo too. It is so easy to shoot video with this great camera!

How so? Both do 640x480 at 30 fps; both do 320x240 at 60 or 30 fps. In adddition the S3 offers both at 15 fps. Please don't assert "better" without defining it.

She may mean that the S5 has a 4Gb clip limit as opposed to 1Gb on the S3 (according to Dpreview).

Yes I do. And the S5 has 207,000 pixels, whereas - the S3 IS 115,000 pixels

Where do you get those numbers? They both shoot 640x480 which is 307,000 pixels, or 320x240, which is 76,800 pixels.

Ever tried watching a straight, uninterrupted, video sequence of over about 5 min.? B-O-R-I-N-G. You'll find editing into an interesting sequence much easier if you film several shorter clips rather than one longer one. Bigger isn't always better. Both are well able to fill whatever card you use with video clips.

Those numbers are from depreview when comparing the S5 to th3 S3 IS and those numbers aren't reffering to the Video, I think it's the general pixels of the camera or something.

It's low for the pixel count for either, but as the OP was asking about video they're irrelevant. Having checked DPReview, I see they're talking about the pixel count on the LCD screen, making them even more irrelevant to discussion of the cameras' relative video capabilities.
