That's old old. It was all faulty stock. You know, a paint chip missing from the tripod mount:D Enough to make it unsellable.

Either they bust it up or half a million dollars of defective products with the Canon name on them will find its way to the streets. Pretty simple decision for Canon to make.

Its all stuff beyond economical repair so better for them to destroy it than let it hit the streets.

I want that 400mm f/2.8 and use it to replace a leg on my table.
