:oops:I hesitate to post these due to the extensive editing...and a general reluctance to offer my work up for review. My photography/editing skills are lacking in comparision to the general membership and I'm conscious of the difference.
Still...the only way to measure my progress is to seek review by those far better than myself...so here they are...please take the time to comment.

Don't be disappointed, you posted this late in the evening at my bedtime and it is the type of editing that most of us aren't accustom to.

#1 like the subject and composition, neutral on PP
#2 like everything
#3 really like subject and composition, dislike PP
#4 neutral on everything

Take this opinion with a grain of salt. I have no artistic vision.

You might not get many responses to these because they are processed so far beyond the original images that there is little photographic comment to make. You might have more luck posting to an art or graphics forum. Try, for example, http://www.photoworkshop.com/ (external link)

Having said that, I like the feel of these. I think they'd make attractive accents to walls in a home or office. One negative: I don't like that you cut off the tops of the mesas in the first one.

I like 2 and 4.....the rest are too processed for me in a not so flattering way for the subjects?

Sometimes the best way as was mentioned it to show the original, and then show the processing you did.

Shadowwolf. Just found this thread.
for what it's worth IMHO these are all excellent. Any c & c would be nit picking. As previously mentioned most folks on this particular forum are not posting "fine art" images. After being an enthusiast (serious amateur)for 25 years (film), I recently got back into photag after a 10 year absense and have gone digital. I'm still learning the digital darkroom and will be doing (or trying to do) this type of photography. Excellent images and keep it up. Not sure where to go to post fine art images.

I think that you have a very good eye for matching processing styles to the image to produce very captivating vignettes. I edit a newsletter in which photography and graphic art merge together and I see that you have a keen eye for graphic art. I think that many photographers are no better at evaluating graphic art than anyone else who has not had art training.

I recommend staying away from the filters tab in photoshop unless you're using the sharpen section.
