Currently I use and online software ( https://www.photogassistant.com (external link) ) to manage my studio. It offers:

Online proofing (I don't use this)
Client Tracking
Scheduling
Order Tracking
Custom Reports

Plus some other stuff. I really like it but it costs $200/year. I would like to purchase software and not pay the yearly subscription fee of $200/year. I looked into Quickbooks Pro the $200 version doesn't offer all of these but I think the $500 version (Quickbooks Premiere) does.

Anyone have any suggestions regarding software to manage your studio?

Thanks
Jeni

Maybe the "Similar Threads" links at the bottom-left of this page will help.

What features do you need in the software. I know there are various flavors out there, and some can be pricey. But in the end, $200 a year is very reasonable for software that will help manage your business. I looked at a lot of software to manage my business, and ended up with a variety of software to do separate tasks, rather than a single application to do it all.

I'm about 98% commercial photography, so my needs may be different than yours, but this is what I ended up with.

QuickBooks - accounting and financial tracking
BlinkBid - Estimates, contracts, job tracking, usage agreements
FotoQuote - Pricing and quotes/estimates
Entourage - Contacts, schedule/calendar/Task management
SoHo Notes - Templates (usage, pricing, jobs, e-mail, etc), notes, organizing data

Mix of digital still gear, Medium format to M4/3.
Canon EOS Cinema for video.

What if you used QuickBooks Customer Manager with QuickBook Pro. Aprox $150 for QuickBooks and $79 for Customer Manager. Together they may do what you need.

Heh, MS Excel spreadsheet is my business manager to keep track of sales, orders, schedules, and whatever else necessary. MS Word also comes in handy....hehe

I use Quickbooks simple start for free and I will be buying the customer manager soon to keep track of clients.
