I plugged in my remote trying to get some fireworks last weekend. Changed my settings to remote/ delay and the remote worked, BUT with a 10 second delay. I could not turn that delay off. So I must be missing a setting change somewhere.

Remote I am using is a canon wired remote. When I first bought it I tested and it worked fine. I went through my manual and field guide with no help. Anyone have a tip for me?

For the wired remote, you don't need to turn it to the "Timer/Wireless Remote" setting.

The "Wireless Remote" setting/ Timer is only for the Wireless remote. Just plug the wired remote in and leave everything the same. Works just like the shutter release button would.

exactly...you dont need to do anything... you've got the delay because you've told it to...

leave it as you would normally shoot it, and just plug in the remote.

are you using mirror lockup ?

No I was not using Mirror Lock up. Thanks Brinutz. Something so simple as that. This can be closed now. So for wireless only go to the remote/ timer. Got it. :-P

Thats my bad. Well the good thing is I still got to practice my timing with the fireworks. Just did not use the remote so they are blurred from camera shake.

Thanks guys.
