Hi

Ive got a 400D (has no PC socket) with a interfit EX150 light setup. I bought some wireless flash triggers from ebay, i cant get my light to flash. THe test button on the light flashes the light i can see that the reciever is getting a signal from the transmitter but it jsut wont flash. DO you think the socket on light is broken maybe? Sigh i dont know what to do anymore :( any help would be great.

Do you have just a sync cord to test directly from the camera to light? That would rule out the socket on the light, at least. Is there a test button on your camera-mounted trigger?

Do you have a sync cord (not an AC power cord) that came with the studio flash units?

Power up one studio flash unit.

Plug the sync cord into the sync socket on the studio flash unit that is powered up.

On the free end of the sync cord, jam a metal paper clip into the port to short out the center contact and the surrounding ring.

Does this fire the flash? If so, there is nothing wrong with the studio flash units.

Enjoy! Lon

If the transmitter has a screw down locking ring, try not tightening it. I had the same problem, found that by "locking" the transmitter onto the hotshoe it lifted the unit just enough not to make contact.
