Those Catcus Triggers are really flimsy on my lightstands

When my flash is connected via hotshoe to the V2 trigger which is clamped to my light stand the entire operation is less than sturdy. Are most of you guys connecting the trigger to flash via cable? I hate to have to use cables at all, i love just plugging in the hot shoe and rocking out. But Im worried something might snap or something... Thoughts?

Yeah the cable is a better option. Just remember the cable connection is VERY weak also.

Oh and if you do opt for the hotshoe mount (which Ido from time to time) make sure you don't overtighten the screw, the plastic will break.

I use studio triggers and sync ports, that's a more sturdy setup.

Speaking of "The Cable". . .

For the life of me, I can neither find nor remember if I even received one with both of my triggers.

Where can you get just the cable?

I need one for my TLR's (both of them have a PC connection, go figure).

I thought the same thing, so I made these brackets. They work great the flash body rests on the bracket. If you wanted you could use a velco strip around the flash for extra security. The flash points to the center of the umbrellas as well.

Another user that seems to have been initially enamored with that hotshoe. But, after the inevitable (and rapid) move to a umbrella adapter, the design does not look so appealing.

For most users the versions of inexpensive radio slaves without the hotshoe, but with the 1/4" phone plug for sync is the better choice, even for hotshoe based flash units.
