How do you do this? Photoshop Question

I am looking to tone some of my images like this. How is he achieving this muted tone. White retaining a relatively natural saturation.

I'd try making the changes to a dupe layer. Then try varying the Opacity. If that didn't work, I'd try using a Layer Mask on the dupe layer. Or maybe some of both.

For toning I like to choose a colour from the colour picker at 50% brightness, fill a new layer with it, set the blending mode to Overlay and adjust the opacity as desired.

Of course you could just use the toning function in ACR.

+1 for using ACR, which is capable of producing amazing tonal effects.

I'd suggest messing with the temperature, saturation/vibrance, HSL and finally the split toning sliders. Once you've got the first image right, copy and paste the develop settings via bridge to the other images in your series.
