As shown softball has a seperate bag for the runner so foot position differs than in higher level baseball, at that age you're lucky to catch the ball let alone have the footwork down! 10+ you can work on that, right now it's the other little things like covering the bag, breaking on the hit, using two hands, etc. - can't count the times I've seen a throw to first with the little kids (8u) and they are not covering or doing the simple little things, let alone stretching with proper foot work! I'm still working on that with my 10th grade JV baseball players! Often at the younger age they just wait to catch it and then run to the bag to tag, the fact she's at the bag and in the position she is shows promise if you ask me...
#1 - not all good baseball/softball action shots need the darn ball or other players, in fact MOST do not and are "standard" like this one of leading off, follow throughs, etc. The shot is fine and has action, though not peak, it's still action of leading off.
#2 - can easily tell that's the sun and not flash, the ball helps in this one but baseball/softball is a sport where the ball won't be present 95% of the time unless you're focusing on a pitcher....that includes LL, high school, college, and pro baseball.
Exposures can use a little tweaking but overall they look good IMO, DOF is good, and action is just fine at what it is in these.
