This girl throws no hitters, and is 2 to 4 years younger than her competition. Her coach keeps moving her up to older leagues to let her advance at her skill level instead of her age. She's 8, playing in 9-10 league, and tournaments with 11-12 year olds. I'm lucky enough to be there.

Just thought I'd share in my joy of photography. Shot's like this; with a special player, is what it's all about for me. I keep taking shots, and her parents have never bought! :) Weird huh?

John - Nice image. Could you get behind the plate (off to a side, of course) between innings to get her more face-on, sorta like the second shot below? With parents, they want to see the face of their kid. You're dealing with a hat, of course, so you'll have to use some creative exposure compensation to bring her face out of the shadow.

Here's another alternative for shooting pitchers from the side that seems to work well with parents:

Thanks Dennis,
Here's some other shots kinda like you suggested. I'm going +2/3 usually to get under her hat, although that changes constantly throughout the changing light. I'm not expecting sales, as they passed on basketball pics as well, she's just a joy to capture.

Always love seeing that! You can tell her parents that Hanover Park HS in NJ is a great school and the a beautiful town located in northern NJ. There are plenty of houses for sale in East Hanover or Florham Park!

thanks.

John,

Those are better. Very nice. Sometimes is hard to figure out why parents do or don't buy. It certainly isn't because of the quality of your pictures, though.

Nice job,

Dennis

Love the second set of images. Great timing and her expression is awesome. Very nice work. Love to see and photographic kids like her. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks guy's. As far as NJ goes, You'd have to give up a couple 1st round draft picks to entice the local HS coach to let her go! :)

Thanks for the kind words Dennis, coming from you, it makes me proud. I feel like a student who has impressed the teacher.

John.
