Been tasked to find a continuous light for work.

What I need is a tungsten balanced head that features a potentiometer so that output can be adjusted WITHOUT changing the white balance.

Does such an animal exist?

Thanks
Ty

Wait and see what others with more experience say, but right off the top I vote for the Spiderlite TD5 lighthead. You can adjust the output of either strobe, halogen or fluorescent bulbs (depending on what you have installed) just by flicking a switch. No adjustment of your settings.

Sounds like what you might need, although they aren't exactly cheap. I'm trying to figure out a way to acquire them myself!

I hope that helps you.

Take a look at kinoflo's. These are fluorescent lights that are color balanced to either 3200 or 5600 and can be dimmed at the head without changing color balance. They put out a very cool, soft light.

There are up to 200 watt 5500 kelvin (daylight) compact fluorescents around that put out as much light as a 500-600 watt tungsten. 1000bulbs.com is one such place. I love these lights!
