The local athletic club Chorley Harriers hold several events throughout the year. Wednesday night was the second event of a 4 X 4 mile road race series.
This athlete must have complete trust in his running mate.

Great shot and a wonderful story.
The DOF is really nice, I like how the background colors make the runners really jump out. The facial expressions are amazing.

Awesome shot, and a super thread title.

While at the Canadian Olympic Trials for swimming, I watched the SWAD heats (swimmers with a disabilty) for the paralympics. Shown below is a blind swimmer. His coach taps his head at just the right time, which means it's time to flip-turn. You get goose-bumps watching it.

God Bless these athletes.

I love that image. ... I just kept staring at it. It looks like the guide is really enjoying himself as well; the smile on his face is wonderful. Just wonderful.

I've seen blind runners crossing the finish at marathons, and it is truly an inspiring thing. It is a team effort, and the guide helps the runner the whole way. I once saw a blind runner and guide hug each other at the finish and and after working together for 26.2 miles they BOTH cried due to what they had done. ... I truly felt the guide gained as much from the experience as the blind runner.

Your picture captures that "partnership". I would encourage you to share that particular image with a blind athletic organization. I can assure you, they would print it and use it to promote this type of activity & partnership.

... Now I think I'm going to stare at your picture again, and then go out for a run!! Thank you for posting. ;););););)
