Hi Gang:

I'm shooting at a tourney this weekend and processing on a new laptop that is generally too bright and blue and not calibrated yet. I would like to get some opinions of how you are all seeing this...ie too bright? too dark?, WB? Just right, etc. EXIF is there I think but just in case...ISO 1600, 1/500, f2.8, RAW. Once I get some comments I can process the bunch of them! Thanks! Chris

I'd say they are a little too dark, as you want the ice as close to white as possible. But, very nice shot and a nice expression! :)

Thanks so far guys! It looks darker posted here too than it does when I am in Lightroom on the same computer. I'll probably lighten the lot a tiny bit more.

Stathunter's assesment is probably more accurate than mine (iMac large screen > laptop any day).

looks a little dark to me as well. Might be ok if you used the shadow/highlight tool to pull the shadows out.

Chris - I think it's just a bit underexposed, and you need to fix the shadows on the stars jersey. Darcy

Chris,

IMO, you went a bit too far. Colors look washed out (I know that green in the jersey is hunter green and not chalky green), the boards look nuclear, and faces look milky.

Since you shot RAW, you should be able to do a little better than this.

Dennis

Thanks Dennis! I thought that might be the case. I have notched things down a tad for the final processing.

Any better?

Christian, since you have image editing on I figured I'd take a shot at it w/ levels and curves. However, when I uploaded to post it, I realized something: the image as displayed on the forum does not look like the un-uploaded one on my computer. The one on my computer has much richer colors and saturation. So, I'm not sure how much you can trust the assesments of the uploaded images. (the last upload looks exactly like the one I was going to post after it was uploaded, so it should be good.

Manutd:
The last image posted is a slightly smaller resolution. Image 2 and 3 are also a very slightly different crop than the first. Not sure if that is what you are meaning. Thanks for your input though on the colors and such.

Chris;
I think you're still just a little too light now (I didn't mind the 1st one all that much myself, but agree it should have been a bit lighter than #1 - IMO)
