Hi All,

A word of warning, stay away from Maxtor!!!!

I have just had my THIRD failure in a year of a Maxtor 1 Touch III Raid...

Thank god we have processes in place that make sure a wedding is backed up to a DVD DL as well as put on the RAID as the RAID has failed with BOTH drives gone.....

In comparison my three WD My Book 2TB drives have run like clockwork since day one.

Maxtor has really lost the plot... I swear I will never buy another one of their drives again... EVER!

Never an issue with 8 different WD drives over the past 6 years with. The Raptor's are awesome.

I stay away from Maxtor drives... That said I don't know if they've improved since Seagate bought them out. For the record, Seagate is the best IMO. I used to like WD drives but my last two WD drives (dual 160GB Caviar SEs) died and WD only had a 1 year warranty on the drives.

Troubleshooting 101 (see also: LightRules,perryge):
1) RTFM.
2) Repeat Step 1.
