there's nice color and composition. it's not quite as sharp as other wildlife pics i've seen, but i'm not really a wildlife shooter . . .

you may want to try posting in the wildlife section. i find that not a lot of people come through this section . . .

I have to agree with lookingforaname in that the image looks a little soft to me. The image doesn't have any EXIF data in it so I'm not really sure what the issue is but my first guess is simply camera shake with a long tele/zoom. If that's the case, then I would suggest trying to get your shutter speed up a little more or just try using a tripod next time.

The other thing that bothers me about this shot is the framing. To me it looks like the bird is about to fall right off the right side of the picture there. I would have liked to have seen this bird in the same pose but to the left side of the image instead. If you're experienced at Photoshop, you could even just isolate the bird into it's own layer and then just "flip him over" and that would work too.

I do think the colors and the lighting are decent but over-all, this shot could use some work.
