I just put together a smallish review of these units over here (external link). Hopefully going to pick up another flash care of my tax return in a few weeks so I can put that second receiver to use finally.

I used these last weekend at an indoor swim meet.

I learned two things... First, the receiver will not sit in the "Stand" of the 420EX, the whole unit is simply too top heavy.

Second, When using my 420 EX, I have to remember that while the range of the trigger is very good, the range of my 420EX isn't as far as that of the wireless signal.

I simply laid my flash on top of an equipment cabinet facing the racing lanes, and shot away. The only times I did not get a triggered flash is when I shot too quick and the flash had not re-cycled yet. I also found that if I went more than about 3 minutes without shooting a frame, I had to go to the flash and push a button to "wake it up".

I was thrilled to NOT have the flash on camera. For me it makes the camera unwieldly. I also never had "side flash" when shooting portrait,. the flash was always coming from above me. Now if I can get them to allow me to bring in my strobes, I can light the whole place up!

Thanks YEOER for posting your find, I am going to order two more receivers now that I have tested the system and know what it is capable of! I am thrilled to have a wireless system for less than $40!

Ive managed to get mine to stay in the little flash stand thing when they have a 430ex or a 580 II on them. Just a matter of finding the right position to balance them.

I imagine I could if I was in a room just by myself, but on the side of a pool with 180+ swimmers wandering around.... Just wasn't the right time for precarious balancing!
