Has any one tried shooting aSailboat Race?

I thought it would be really fun but not sure if even the IS would help. Was thinking of using 300mm & 1.2 or 2 TC.
Any thoughts ?

Sailboat racing is a pretty broad topic. Are we talking 12 meter boats or JY13's?

Will you be shooting from shore or a powerboat?

Guessing from a small RIB or tender, most pro's use 300's and add a 1.4 if necessary. I have gotten some decent results from my 70-200 f4 and a 2X TC.

I am a sailor myself - I use the 100-400 and find it perfect most of the time... :D
