Thanks very much for the kind words. These are actually very fascinating ambush hunters that can actually change their colors to match the flowers they are on. this one was actually moving from one flower bush to another.

Good shots Rick, looks remarkably like a crab spider I took shots of a few years ago.

Nice find, it's amazing how you can look at a flower and not even notice these sat in the middle.

Fantastic shots of a facinating creature!

I run a website for UAE birds & other wildlife, and I understand you took these photos in a Dubai garden?
If so, would you be willing to share the photo on the www.uaebirding.com (external link) website?

Great pics of it - yes, they are really sneaky arent they. I had one in my garden a while back and didnt realise it was there until I took a macro of a bee then saw the dreaded long white legs had hold of it (already dead).

Welcome to the forum :D

What a beautiful shot of the lizard! Love the colour and lighting on this - you really should have posted it in a new thread so more people would be seeing it :D Looking forward to seeing some more of your pics.

Very cool pictures. I have the 5D and a Sigma 24-70 Macro, but I can never seem to get macros as close and sharp as the first picture. If you don't mind me asking, what did you do to get that shot (lens, crop, etc)?

Thanks for any pointers you have.
