Anyone using this combo with success for weddings? I contemplating adding the lens as opposed to switching to the 5D, with my first couple weddings coming up.

Thanks for your advice.

Very awesome. I believe there is a thread on using UWA's at weddings. I've used my 10-20. Not too shabby of results.

Sure, the last two were my first wedding and I was getting used to everything. Flash and a UWA, should have tested it first to find the right settings.

It's probably not a good idea to use it as your primary go-to lens for weddings but it certainly has its place, as aravena's very cool images show.

Yes, I agree. It would not be the go to lens, but just the wide angle option. I keep debating whether to upgrade to the 5D, or make do with the 40D and add the UWA.

Thanks Martin!

If there is an excuse to get the 5D, get it! :D

But no, I use it when I have spare time to put it on and take fun shots. It quickly comes off thought so I don't miss too much. In tight areas though it ain't bad since you can zoom to 20 or 22 which is a nice WA for general use.

I think you afford to sell the 1 film and 2 digitals to fund it.

I am working on that right now.....

Selling the film is not really an option -- Its fairly worthless, and I like to shoot with it every now and again.

The Rebel goes on sale tomorrow -- just finished pp the ebay images.

The 30D (if I go the 5d route) needs a sensor cleaning and the Canon folks will be in town on the 21st. I will have that cleaned up regardless.

I figure that I would need to come up with about a grand when it was said and done. I have that set aside for lighting....

Ah..... What to do?!?!

My wedding photogs used 30/40Ds and did some shots with the 10-20 lens. Some really cool shots of the church!
