Heron and lunch

Eager to give the new lens a test, I headed to the near park and luckily saw this guy.

From a friend I found out that the lunch was a vole and not a mouse as I original thought it was.

Thanks for the comment. I've never seen one before too only fish :)

The guy was smart. He drown the rodent a few times to make sure.

I never would have expected to see a Heron eating a rodent. Great series.

Nice shots, I have seen them eat odd things. I believe they dip their dinner to help it go down easy. I am not sure of that.
