I'd rather it keep the codename. I'd totally buy a Canon Cobra.

So would I. I wonder why they did name cameras for awhile but pro line camera have boring assignations like D5. I like calling cameras Rebels, or Cobras, or whatever. Much more fun.

And yes, it looks like late fall is when the new full frame sensor camera is coming out. I will be pestering my local shop, I wanna have the first one!

You are too late already .... :D

We have a notice here in Spain that they are taken pre-orders in some shops for the new camera (5D MkII, 6D or what ever named) quoted about 2.500€ since 3 weeks ago ... One of my colleagues was present during one of the pre-orders ... I can tell you that the city was not one of the biggest in my country, belongs to the land where the bi-world F1 champion Fernando Alonso has born and for that times (3 weeks ago), already 9 bodies were reserved .... so at least you are very lucky if you are going to be the 10 th !!! :D :D :D

The new camera it will be announced by half-end August; presented at Photokina and delivered first units by November/Christmas time ...

That´s dealers & people rumors are running here ... remember, the rumor is the antechamber of the news ... ;)

Let´s wait and see if this once again comes true ...

Cheers
Juan
