SmugMug questions...

I am about to setup a SmugMug account but I have a couple of quick questions:

1. What do most of you use for a nickname? I don't have a photography business so I don't have a company name. I was going to use something really creative like "BTBeilke". Should I have any reservations about using my real name on SmugMug?

2. Does SmugMug have a "refer-a-friend" type of deal? I noticed that there was a space to put in the email address of a friend on SmugMug. If you get a kickback for referring a friend, I'd be happy to enter someone's email address. PM me if you'd like.

You can use any name you want. I believe you can change your nickname later if you would like.

That's what I ended up doing. I just wasn't familiar enough with SmugMug to know how anonymous I may or may not want to be.

Barring a company name or something creative, I see no reason not to use your name.

People can be funny sometimes...we'll hand out business cards willy-nilly with our name, phone, fax, email, etc. (sometimes even physical address), yet when it comes to putting that info online everyone becomes terrified of "identity theft".

Not to downplay identity theft...just saying that blaming it all on the internet is a little silly.
