Used the 28-135mm kit lens that came with the camera. The 100-400L should be here sometime this week. C & C welcome. You folks are making me such a better photographer. Thanks!

I think you did a great job. Photo is nice & sharp with good exposure. She looks like she means business.

Keep 'em coming.

Very good, I like it. One suggestion, watch your horizon line. The fence in the back is tilted, an easy fix in post.

I personally think that the person on the right is distracting. I would see if you could crop it without them, and then straighten the horizon as has already been noted.

It was a tight shot. I was happy the catcher didn't pop up and get her head in the bottom of the frame and cut off the pitchers feet. I did get a few of those. Or the batter is really crowding the plate and you only got half of the pitcher. Umpires are going to be somewhere close to the plate. I was trying to frame her between both people.
I don't have any software to adjust horizons or do any of the other really nice effects I have seen in some posts. Any suggestions?

I never have been a big fan of this angle but the photo is nice and sharp and the colors look good. To me there is too much in the foreground and I would rather see the pitcher in a shot by herself.

Superb image. Great job. Even with all those FPS, catching the ball at the top of the wind up is not easy. I'm curious to see how the MKIII does. I have my first game with it Tuesday. So far I have only been able to shoot graduations and weddings over the past week.

This is nice, three comments:
#1: As has been mentioned, the horizon is tilted.
#2: I really wish you had taken a step to the left so the ump wasn't in the way (although this may have caused the catcher to block your view.
#3: The background is pretty distracting. If you can get another lens (other than the 100-400), try getting one with a large maximum aperture so that the background is better blurred. Also, try to frame the subject against smooth colors, such as a tree.

I've been using a 28-135 for about 6 years now.
(Digital Rebel, 10D, 20D)

I have _never_ seen an image that sharp with it.

WOW!

I'll agree with the comments about the composition and background....but hey, we're all here to learn!

Great shot of the pitcher, shame about the arm on the right hand side.
Excellent focus and sharpness.
