After converting thousands of shots from RAW to JPEG, I finally got around to editing some, these are from my first 3 days of a 3.5 week trip to China. Zhang Jia Kou is a relatively small city only about 3 million. It's an old mining town about 150 kilometers northwest of Beijing. A couple thousand years ago this was on the Mongols path to Beijing, thus the Great wall was started here. My Mother in law recently moved here and it was a nice place to visit for a few days. They don't see many white guys here so I was armed with my 100-400 for most these shots...

the third and last are the best of the bunch imo. I like two but the subject is too centered for my tastes.

I like the second to the last... just cause of the awesome brooms they're using. :D

Great shots, all of them.

Thanks, yeah, they're a bit moody and on the darker side. Never really shot like this before....it was fun.

It's a good mix between the people and the industrial. Not being a PS wiz or anything, I assume that you are adding the dark vignette areas? Some work better than others but I definitely like the B & W conversions.

Yeah, I do a couple different conversions, I'm no PS wizard either and use a pretty cool program I picked up from my buddy in China called Neo-Imaging. getting the B+W's to look good is tough (for me).
