OK too lazy today to look it up. What if the lenses I want do not come in stock before the rebate ends? Will they have to honor it if I can't find it anywhere!? I know the answer, but it's not fair! I finally have enough money for the darn lens and now it's out of stock!!!

The rebates are instant rebates, which means they are applied at the time you pay. To get the rebate you must buy the lens within the rebate period. Some retailers will charge your card now (thus allowing you to get the rebate credit), even if the lens is not in stock. If you buy from someone that charges your card only when they ship, it is possible that the rebate will not be applied. However, as long as you buy it within the rebate period, I'm sure most retailers will honor the rebate credit, if the lens ships after the rebate period.

Just curious what lens are you wanting that is out of stock?

The 35L, I can't find it anywhere. And the places that have it are charging way too much for it, it'd be cheaper to buy it after the rebates from B&H at the prices some places are charging. Supply and Demand I guess.

Yes, this is the first time I can recall where Canon has offered the 35L with a rebate. I think that has pushed alot of people who were on the fence of getting one over the edge. It worked with me. I know have a 35L as a result of the rebates (even thought I know I only saved about $40 from about 6 months ago :( ) But knowing that the price would go back to $1180 was enough to tell me to get it now

I honestly think Canon will be surprised at the 35L. I don't know what caused them to offer it on the rebate list, but given what I've seen thus far, I fully expect it to show up there again in future rebates. It seemed like the same lenses were showing up on the rebate list year after year, so I'm glad to see that Canon changed it up this year.

I also bought the 35L. The 35L became in and out of stock twice since the rebate started. When it came back in stock the first time I figured I can wait because there's 6 weeks left of the rebate. Then it was out of stock within 3 days. A week later it came back in stock then I knew that I had to buy it now.

Yeah baby!! I ordered it this morning! I need it for something on Thursday and Friday and a gig in a couple weeks. I'm so happy it's on it's way. I have wanted this lens since changing to canon AF/digital, I've been saving for a year to buy it!
