Could someone give me a basic tutorial on how to use th 580ex? -- Flash and Studio Lighting in photography-on-the.net forums

I've just rented the flash and it didn't come with a manual. Could someone just let me know how to use the settings are what are you used for?

Hi Paul,
Being rented it could have been left in "Who knows what" mode.
First, slide the lever at the bottom of the flash in the back that's labeled "OFF, Master, Slave to off.
Then toggle the Mode button until ETTL reads on the display.
This should give you a good automatic flash setting start.
