Double Crested Cormorant - I did not used flash in this case. Do you think it would have been better if I used Flash to highlight the back too.

Snowy Plover - This is again a closeup shot.

Comment/Critique welcome.

Also, I believe your input is very important as it will make me a better photographer :).

Two very good photos, great detail in the plover and the cormorant's front side. Somewhat dark on my monitor here at work but that could be just the cheap equipment I have here. Actually, I like the shadowed effect on the cormorant's wing and back area.

Looking to help fund another's 5D II purchase with $1200.00 Canadian 4 their ol' 5D Mark I (then I can cancel my order, get some fullframe & save some cash) :DDream on

Two nice images. I agree about the fill flash on the cormorant. I would have liked a touch more space for the plover.

Two really nice shots. Just last year I would have said to use fill flash. This year is different, I now have a 40D and CS3 and with those two tools, you just don't need fill flash any more. for the Cormorant, I would have dialed in about one stop worth of positive exposure compensation, shot in RAW and tweaked it more in CS3 in both the RAW and the JPG.

Two great shots! I would try brightening the plover a touch, seems a bit dark. Other than that you have some great shots!
