Guys,

I need some suggestions for a decent tripod.

My conditions are:

* Usage: I want to use it for hiking and daily walkaround with Lowepro flipside 200 bag.
* Should be light weight and sturdy.
* Dont want to spend too many $$, so should be cost effective.
* Want to use it with XTi, and few lenses. Nothing huge.

In case someone has any for sale, do let me know. I am all open for a good condition used one as well.

Any suggestions?

You really need to give us a budget. For some, an inexpensive lightweight tripod = $40, for others anything under $400 is a bargain.

Check out Adorama's carbon fiber tripods. They have "lots" of inexpensive models to choose from. I am sure that you can find one to fit your needs.

For me yes around 40$ is good enough. But it should be light and easy to carry around. Any suggestions for some model/brand? I have never used one, so not sure what exactly to look out for.

What all head types are there? And which to choose based on what conditions?
