Dual Layer External DVD Drive (lightscribe)

What model is considered to be a good unit? I'd like to start copying over some of my photos as additional back-up to a dual layer DVD drive, but not sure what I should be looking at (pioneer, sony etc.).

Dual layer media is still on the expensive side, but not as expensive as an $800 home server, which is my ultimate goal.
