I have a photo shoot sceduled, but they want a night shot of their outdoor pool. Problem is, with my schedule, i wouldn't be able to be there at night. Is there a way to make a day shot look like a night shot? My main concern is the pool and any reflections it may have, as well as your typical outdoor lights. I have Photoshop CS3 and After Effects, so i'm hoping this can be done? Internet search only got me a few dead links. Thanks in advance.

Also, if you have any examples, that would be great.

Nik filters has a "midnight filter" that I use on occasion. Its kind of hit or miss.

But it seems to work well with buildings and structure. I think they might have a trial version. I use the filter delfaults pretty much and then add the filter , then adjust opacity of it in Photoshop.

Let us know if thats like what your looking for.

Chuck

It can be done in photoshop but it can be a lot of hassle depending on the original photo.

In the book 'How to cheat in photoshop CS3 (external link)' Steve Caplin has a tutorial on turning day into night and I followed that when attemping it on my own image below. Unless you're a photoshop genius (which sadly im not!) it'll never be as good as the real thing.

Darken with blue tint? Night scenes in movies are shot in the day, and thats kinda what they do. well back in the day anyway.

FlexiPack, I think that looks pretty cool. Nice work.
