of course these zooms don't qualify, because they are not as fast as 50/1.4, for example.
Anyway, if you do not see a benefit, that does not mean there is none.

Hold on, you did NOT say ANYTHING about it being a prime only... Or a 1.4.... You said 50mm..... you just had a BUNCH listed....

Well, you might be right. I was hoping it is absolutely clear when I was saying "50mm lens", I did not mean some zoom lens with 50mm in its range.
This part of discussion is pointless, though, as I want to believe you get my point.

In truth the whole discussion is pointless because we can't change the Nikon or Canon systems (and most of don't want to).

Our only choice is to buy what suits us indivudually.

Debating the relative merits of the two IS systems repeatedly comes up on this forum, and at the end, neither camp has swayed anyone in the other camp.

When did voluptuous become voluminous?

Right. But as a recent Canon convert (from Sony) (I still have some time to return whatever stuff I got, though ;) ), I must say I am missing in-body IS. But none of IS lenses I ordered have arrived yet, though.
And of course I switched not because of the IS.
