HI, I'm a car photographer, and I'm looking for a right stock agency for my niche... I already sell my photos to several magazines, but they don't buy exclusive right, so I decided to make some buck on the side... please recommend any good stock agencies, I can apply for... I only know about shutterstock, is it any good?

thanks!

Shutterstock.... that's a "microstock" agency... Sure, sell royalty free (unlimited usage) and get pennies instead of dollars.

Do a search here for discussion of microstock.

Read this statement by a real stock agency, and make up your own mind.

Sorry, I don't know of an agency that specializes in automotive subjects.

You might get a copy of Photographers Market 2008 and see if there are any in the 60 or so pages they devote to stock photo agencies.

Got signed model and property releases? If not, an editorially-oriented agency might be your best bet. If you do have releases, that opens up commercial potential that makes your images worth 5X, 10X, maybe even 100X as much per sale.

thanks, but in that case I will have to build a considerable portfolio? I never thought about real agency, but then I'm not sure if there are any in Milano... But cars market is huge here, so thanks for a suggestion...
