4H? I love the 'coming right at ya' shots.. LOL. The expression you captured in #1 cracked me up.. good shot! (#3 too!!) But they're all fun shots & good captures! I love seeing the horse events!

Do you have these on a site for the parents to purchase?

Thanks for the comments. The facial expressions says it all, doesn't it? Yes I post them the next day for purchase. If it's a large enough event, we have actually set up on site. It's not 4H but one of the local horse racing associations. They do speed events and western pleasure show. Thanks again for looking.

Racing horses is nuts, I did it for a little while. Kids racing horses is crazy! Takes a LOT of work.

You are so right, I wish I could of cropped her out more. She really takes away from the picture.

When I saw the title "Horse racing pictures" I thought, "0h some more horse racing photo's, great stuff, I just posted some of these, lets have a look" ...

OK, so not what I thought [was thinking the sort of horse racing you can bet on], but, they still they look good.

So, is this a popular sport in the US of A?

Also, what sort of PP'ing has been done on these? They look as though they have been run through the Shadow/Highlight adjustment a few times. The capture is spot on, however they just look a bit "over lightened" ...

Cheers,
J&D

Thanks for the comments. This was from a set of speed events at the horse show. I wasn't sure what to put in the subject line, sorry if I mislead you.

Yes I did apply Shadow/Highlight and curves but only once. I certainly may have over done it. I am still trying to master that art of correcting my exposures and such.

Fantastic shots! For that fourth one, if this is a real keeper for you I'd suggest completely cloning out the sleeping woman, phone pole, etc. Wouldn't be too much trouble to just copy over another section of that fence, and it would make a huge difference on the pic.

J&D, we differentiate between *professional* horse racing (similarly with dog racing) which you refer to, and *amateur* horse (& dog) racing, here in the USA. Both are quite popular, obviously far more folks are participating in the amateur events.
