She says "This lens that you've been using recently is white (70-200 f/4 IS). Wasn't the one I bought you for your birthday black? (the 70-300)" I told her that I simply traded with someone for the "white one" and she shrugged and says while walking away "I like the white one. It looks cooler". I love how technologically progressive she is, bless her soul
. All she knows is that she loves the images that I download to the computers. Once she figures out how to turn on the DVD player and switch to the proper interface on the LCD, I may start showing her more about the camera gear 
She is still yet to notice that my Silver Rebel XT had miraculously morphed into a black 30D about a year ago.

. With that being said my girlie absolutely adores my photography and so she has no problems at all with my splurging - as long as I can still afford to take her to her favourite cafe/chocolate place she couldn't care less. And I think she cares even less when my photos pay for her to go to her favourite cafe/chocolate place
