Would a white bed sheet work as a backdrop? If it's been tried how did the pics come out?

yes but remove all of the wrinkles unless you have excellent DOH or want to spend heaps of time correcting in the post processing. I know guys who use white sheets very effectively as softboexs/diffusers also.
