I was going for a sort of Ansel Adams/Salvador Dali look to this. Any thoughts?

I feel this would look MUCH better as a B&W image, with some radical / harsh contrast added... As it is, I'm afraid it doesn't do too much for me!

Hmmm I feel like the viewer cant figure out what the main focus is here? IE is it the tree or the monument. Both items are powerful in the picture and I find my eyes going back and forth between the two.
Maybe try cloning out the tree if you want the monument to be the main subject.
I had a fun play with it, just to give you an idea. This was super quick, but you can see how the main subject is not in question now.
