Hi all, I just ordered a Tamron 17-50 2.8, a skyport universal set, and a hotshoe adapter from Flash Zebra:

Will this setup work to trigger my 580 EX?

With this setup can I use my 580EX as a master and a 430EX as a slave?

How reliable is Flash Zebra and how quickly do they ship?

Thanks for the replies

Flash Zebra is quick and reliable, according to people I trust. As for compatibility it should be fine, but hopefully someone with that combo will advise.

You'll also need an adapter cord - PC male on one end and 1/8" miniplug male on the other. If you can find one with a screwlock PC connector I highly recommend that option for much improved reliability. Flashzebra has sold these but he's out of stock at the moment.

I have had good experiences with Flashzebra and recommend him without hesitation. Lon knows his stuff, his products work as advertised, his website explains clearly what they will do and what they won't. He generally ships same day or next day.

Using the Skyports to trigger a 580EX in master-manual mode doesn't work, from what I have read. Even with PocketWizards (which do work), you're limited to line-of-sight to the slave and 1/125 sync speed. Buying a second Skyport receiver for the second flash would be a better option.

Thanks for the info, I thought the skyport kit came with the cables.
