Can the 40D shoot in 12 and or 14bit raw?

If so, how do I change between the two?

From what I read, 14 bit only. But why would you want to change it to 12 bit?

maybe because the 14 bit files are like TWICE the size of 12 bit files. Your CF cards only hold half of what they used to!! But I think it's worth it. The 14 bit RAWS are absolutely beautiful with very smooth tonal gradations over the 12 bit files.

But getting 61 shots on a 2GB card kinda sucks. The 40D isn't bad, it gets about 115 shots per 2 GB card.
